Craft shows are a good fit for you if…
You are frustrated with your etsy sales
I’ve spent WAY too many hours setting up an Etsy account. From the listing descriptions, photoshoots, calculating fees, and so much more, I’ve spent months perfecting my account. All this time & energy wasted because when it came time to launch … crickets.
The amount of effort Etsy takes to set up & manage is not worth the organic sales you get.
At markets, you won’t have to rely on product photos, keywords, or algorithms to get eyes on your product. The organic in-person traffic gets you WAY more eyes on your products, converting to more sales!
You want customer feedback on your products
Is this you? You post a picture of a product on Instagram & ask for people’s opinions, & your mom & best friends are your only comments. I only know this so well because this used to be me!
But at markets, people are constantly giving you feedback, and you don’t even need to ask for it! For example, last weekend, I had 7 people ask if I had baby mittens in pink! So you know what I’m whipping up this week for next weekend’s market!
You want to be apart of your local community
There’s something so special about making an impact on your community!
You’ll absolutely love making other small business friends! & being able to see your products being worn by a random person shopping at your local grocery store? NOTHING beats that feeling!
You want to make quick cash
At markets you can sell a lot more items in a shorter amount of time than online on Etsy!
In a five hour show you have the potential to sell WAY more than 5 hours on Etsy, 5 days on Etsy, 5 weeks on Etsy, & in my personal experience 5 MONTHS on Etsy! Pretty insane right? & I swear this isn’t too good to be true, because I’ve done this myself!
You want to grow your crochet business
If you’ve been frustrated with your sales in general, & been wanting to make more sales in your business, craft shows are a game changer. They are hands down THE sole reason I’ve been able to pursue my crochet business full time.
Hey, I never said it was going to be easy, but I will say this: it’s going to be totally worth it! If even the smallest part of you is telling you to try a market, I think you should follow that instinct.
